This error is encountered if you have used an improperly formed URL for your "Use own server" address.

Improperly formed Examples(errors in bold):

  ftp://ftp.excelo.com/personal/sync/foxmarks.json

  http://excelo.com/personal/sync/foxmarks.json

Properly formed Example:

  ftp://excelo.com/personal/sync/foxmarks.json

There may be other causes for this error, but the above (and its permutations) are the most likely.
